Confex Event Industry Exhibition. Is it really worth it?

Confex 2017. Are events industry exhibitions still relevant?

March 1st and 2nd represents that time of year again. Where the rafts of events industry suppliers and buyers descend onto London’s Olympia building for the annual International Confex Event. As an entertainment supplier to the events industry, we will be exhibiting. But making the decision was once again a debate. The events industry, ever-evolving, makes you wonder if the exhibition side really is where busy events organisers go now days to find their contractors. With the hugely informative content from suppliers all over social media and Google, it begs the question –  do event organisers just pop online to find suppliers or is there a different trust brought with a face to face conversation on a bustling exhibition floor?  I certainly think there is value in a face to face conversation and an opportunity to explain or even demonstrate what makes us unique. I think this is particularly relevant for new event technology and certainly relevant to the entertainment side.

Confex which runs alongside the production show and now the office show claim over 6,000 visitors across 2 days and growing year on year.

  • Over 52 %, 3,170 of visitors organise events outside the UK.
  • 91% of Visitors have purchasing responsibility.

Certainly sounds appealing! But it still represents a large investment and large portion of annual marketing spend. I look forward to seeing your comments on this subject, from both buyers and suppliers.

We will be finding out for ourselves when we exhibit this year. If you’re visiting come say hello, we’re at stand C37C.
